ChromaLuxe Metal Prints
Vibrant, durable, and virtually indestructible
Featured: "Caineville Mesa Detail" – Capitol Reef, Utah
The Practical Choice for Real Life
I have ChromaLuxe prints in my kitchen. That tells you everything you need to know about their durability. Steam, splashes, fingerprints from grandkids—none of it matters. The image is infused into the aluminum itself, not sitting on top of it.
ChromaLuxe delivers saturated, punchy colors with a modern aesthetic that works particularly well with bold landscapes and high-contrast images. The surface has a subtle luminosity that catches light differently than paper or acrylic.
For spaces where you want impact without worry—offices, hallways, bathrooms, vacation homes—ChromaLuxe is often the smartest choice. It's also significantly more affordable than acrylic while still delivering gallery-quality presentation.
How Dye-Sublimation Works
The process that makes ChromaLuxe different from ordinary metal prints
Infused, Not Printed
At 400 degrees Fahrenheit, the image transforms into a gas and permanently bonds with the proprietary coating on the aluminum surface. The color becomes part of the panel itself.
This is fundamentally different from inkjet printing where ink sits on top of the surface. With dye-sublimation, there's nothing to scratch off, peel away, or wash off.
Built to Last
ChromaLuxe panels are scratch-resistant, waterproof, fade-resistant, and can handle direct contact without damage. You can clean them with a damp cloth without worry.
- •Safe for kitchens and bathrooms
- •Kid and pet friendly
- •No glass to break
- •Covered outdoor areas OK
Vivid Color Reproduction
The white aluminum base creates exceptional color saturation and contrast. Blacks are deep, colors are punchy, and the overall effect is more vibrant than traditional prints.
Available in gloss or matte finish. Gloss delivers maximum color pop and works well in most lighting. Matte reduces glare in bright spaces while maintaining rich tones.
65+ Year Archival Rating
Independent testing by Wilhelm Imaging Research—the industry standard for print permanence—confirmed ChromaLuxe prints maintain their quality for over 65 years under normal display conditions.
The fade-resistant properties come from the dye-sublimation process itself. The color molecules are locked within the coating, protected from UV degradation and environmental factors.
From Image to Metal
The dye-sublimation printing process
Image Preparation
Your photograph is color-profiled specifically for ChromaLuxe output and printed in reverse on specialized transfer paper using sublimation inks.
Heat Transfer
The transfer paper is placed face-down on the ChromaLuxe panel and subjected to 400°F heat and pressure in a specialized press.
Sublimation
At this temperature, the solid ink transforms directly into gas (sublimation) and penetrates the proprietary polymer coating on the aluminum.
Permanent Bond
As the panel cools, the gas reverts to solid form—now permanently fused within the coating. The image becomes part of the panel itself.
Finishing
A float mount system is attached to the back, creating a 1-inch gap from the wall. Your print arrives ready to hang.

Common Questions
What's the difference between gloss and matte finish?
Gloss delivers maximum color saturation and a reflective surface that catches light dramatically. Matte has a subtle texture that reduces glare and reflections—better for rooms with strong natural light or where the print faces windows. Both have identical durability. If you're unsure, gloss is the more popular choice.
Can I hang a ChromaLuxe print outdoors?
In covered outdoor areas, yes. The prints themselves are waterproof and fade-resistant, but prolonged direct sunlight exposure can affect longevity. Under a covered porch, patio roof, or outdoor kitchen? Absolutely. Fully exposed to weather? I'd recommend protecting the investment with proper coverage.
How do I clean a metal print?
Use a soft, damp cloth. That's it. The surface is non-porous, so dirt and fingerprints wipe right off. Avoid abrasive cleaners or rough materials, but otherwise these are the easiest prints to maintain. Some clients use standard glass cleaner with good results.
How heavy are the prints?
Surprisingly light. A 40×60 inch ChromaLuxe panel with float mount weighs approximately 13 pounds—much lighter than a framed paper print with glass at the same size. This makes hanging easier and reduces stress on your walls.
What's included with purchase?
Each ChromaLuxe print includes: the finished metal print with pre-installed float mount hardware (creates 1-inch wall gap), a signed certificate of authenticity with edition number, care instructions, and basic hanging hardware. Prints arrive ready to hang in minutes.
Is there a difference between ChromaLuxe and a generic metal print?
Yes — significantly. Generic metal prints are typically printed with inkjet or UV inks on top of the surface, which means the image sits above the material and can be scratched, chipped, or faded over time. ChromaLuxe uses a proprietary dye-sublimation process where the image is infused directly into the panel coating at 400°F. There's nothing on top of the surface to damage. This is why ChromaLuxe has a 65+ year Wilhelm Imaging Research rating while most generic metal prints offer no meaningful archival guarantee.
Do you offer trade pricing for interior designers?
Yes. A trade program is available for design professionals on projects of three or more pieces. Trade pricing includes wholesale rates, custom sizing to specification, and installation coordination for Phoenix-area projects. See the trade program page at martyquinn.com/for-interior-designers or contact info@martyquinn.com with project details.
What custom sizes are available for ChromaLuxe?
Custom sizes and panoramic formats are available on request. Standard sizes run from 11×14 to 40×50 inches. For commercial projects or specific wall dimensions, custom sizing is quoted individually — contact info@martyquinn.com with your dimensions. Panoramic formats (e.g., 20×60 or 24×72) are also available.
How does ChromaLuxe compare to canvas prints?
ChromaLuxe and canvas serve different aesthetics. Canvas has a textured, painterly look suited to traditional decor — the texture visually softens fine photographic detail. ChromaLuxe has a clean, modern finish that preserves photographic sharpness and delivers more accurate, saturated color. For landscape photography where fine detail and color accuracy matter, ChromaLuxe is typically the stronger choice. Canvas also requires careful humidity control and is not waterproof; ChromaLuxe is completely waterproof and requires no climate precautions.
Commercial & Trade
The Specification Choice for Commercial Spaces
Interior designers and hospitality specifiers choose ChromaLuxe for commercial projects because it solves the practical problems that come up in high-traffic environments: damage during installation, humidity in bathrooms and spas, fingerprints in corridors, and cleaning crews with standard products.
At hotels and restaurants, that means no worry about proximity to pools, steam rooms, or standard cleaning protocols. In corporate offices, it means prints that survive a busy corridor and wipe clean with a damp cloth. In luxury residential projects, it means a collector-quality print without the conversation about what happens if a window gets left open in the rain.
Trade pricing is available for design professionals on projects of three or more pieces. Custom sizing to specification. Installation coordination available for the Phoenix area.
Hotels & Hospitality
Hallways, guest rooms, spas, pool areas — ChromaLuxe handles humidity and cleaning protocols that would destroy paper prints. Zero maintenance beyond occasional wiping. No glass to break during transport or install.
Corporate Offices
Reception areas, conference rooms, executive suites. The frameless float-mount installation makes large-format pieces practical where framed glass would be a liability during installation or rearrangement.
Luxury Residential
For collectors who want museum quality without environmental restrictions. Kitchens, covered outdoor spaces, vacation properties, secondary residences. No special care required.
Multi-Piece Projects
Volume pricing on orders of three or more pieces. Each print ships with a numbered certificate of authenticity. Custom dimensions available to fit specific wall openings.
A Note on Sustainability
ChromaLuxe panels are manufactured from 90% recycled aluminum and are 100% recyclable after their long display life. The dye-sublimation process produces minimal waste compared to traditional printing methods.
