The Image

On still mornings these ponds become mirrors — the reflection so clean that the image can be read either way up. This image was made on a winter morning when the air was cold and the wind was absent. The granite walls visible in the reflection have the clarity and detail in the water's surface that this kind of image requires. Morning fog in the valley adds softness to the distant view. Shot on the Fujifilm GFX100S in winter. The medium format sensor resolves both the reflection detail and the actual landscape above it cleanly.
